Gunther Wegner, based in northern Germany is a known Time Lapse-, Nature-, Landscape and Wildlife photographer. He is the originator and developer of the market leading solution for time lapse photography, LRTimelapse and is a pioneer in the area of day-to-night and night-to-day shooting – the so called “Holy Grail” of time lapse photography.

Gunther was born 1974 in Brazil and lives in Germany now since nearly 30 years. In 2012 he decided to quit his regular job in IT Project Management and dedicate himself full time to his duties in the area of time lapse, photography, film making and blogging. He worked for German broadcasters like NDR Naturfilm as well as international ones like NHK.


Besides this he offers workshops, coaching and guided photo trips to destinations all over the world either for professional film makers as well as for interested enthusiasts. He travels a lot, mainly South-, Central-America and Africa.

With his latest productions African Skies, Altiplano Skies, African Skies 2 4K and recently Northern Skies 4K, he did not only demonstrate technical feasibility but also raised awareness to environmental topics and donated parts of the revenues to animal welfare.

In 2013 his German blog gwegner.de was elected as best photography blog by the readers of the German PhotoCommunity.
